Geopartner Network Grows To 19 Organisations

Charnwood Forest Geopartner Network has been steadily growing through the first few months of 2025, with a number of the new organisations signing up. The Geopartners are local businesses and community groups that want to show their support for Charnwood Forest Geopark, and work together to build strong, healthy communities.

Recent additions to our network include:

  • Aminah Active – a Community Investment Company promoting physical and mental wellbeing for all women, particularly those of ethnic minority and faith backgrounds.
  • Benefice of Anstey and Thurcaston with Cropston – a Church of England Benefice of two parish churches within the Leicester Diocese.
  • Friends of Grace Dieu – a community group that cares for and promotes the ruins of the Augustinian nunnery at Grace Dieu.
  • Magz King – a ceramic artist who produces works inspired by folklore and the natural world.
  • Markfield Community Library – a registered charity and group of volunteers who run their local library.
  • Markfield Local History Group – a group of local residents with an interest in the history of Markfield.
  • Mountsorrel Museum and Heritage Trust – a community group celebrating the heritage of Mountsorrel and running the local museum.
  • Roberts Travel Group – Leicestershire’s premier coach operator for holidays, day trips, and private hire.
  • Village Life – Charnwood Forest’s premier community lifestyle magazine.
  • Woodhouse Parish Council – providing local services to the people and visitors of Woodhouse and Woodhouse Eaves.

The Geopartners are provided with exclusive resources that support their organisations and allow them to deepen their connection to the heritage of Charnwood Forest – be it geological, biological, or historical. To help celebrate their Geopartner status, all members of the Network receive a personalised sign made from sustainably sourced wood within the National Forest.
