Community Challenge Success At Agar Nook

On Thursday 4th June, the Geopark and National Forest ran a Community Challenge as part of Love Your Neighbourhood month, in partnership with East Midlands Homes.

As well as scrubbing play equipment, picking litter and cleaning graffiti, residents of Agar Nook got stuck in to making their own bird boxes to take home, supported by Heartwood Community Woodfuel group. Members of the community also had the chance to make seed bombs to grow wildflowers in their own gardens. In addition, attendees planted hanging baskets to put up outside the community centre and provided East Midlands Homes with litter pickers and hoops to lend out to local residents.

Thank you to everyone who attended and supported the event. If you’d like to get involved in volunteering within the Geopark, you can find more information on our volunteering page.
