Representatives from organisations across Charnwood Forest met at Leicestershire County Hall on Thursday for the 2023 Charnwood Forest Stakeholder Forum.
The event, kindly hosted by Leicestershire County Council, is an opportunity for the Charnwood Forest team to feedback on the progress of projects being progressed as part of the Landscape Partnership Scheme. Charnwood Forest Landscape Partnership Scheme is funded by National Lottery Heritage Fund and partners to make landscape scale changes and create a legacy of shared commitment to the area.
Presentations were given on the general progress of the projects, as well as specific talks on this new website, opportunities for volunteering and community group support, and Geoproducts. During the break, attendees had chance to learn more about the Geoparks education, arts, and geoproducts programmes. Following this, small groups considered possible areas within Charnwood Forest that could benefit from Community Challenge funding. Full details of this fund will be published at a later date.
