New Information Hubs Welcome Visitors to the Geopark

Visitors to Charnwood Forest will find it easier to explore the region and discover the area’s heritage thanks to investment in new Geopark Information Hubs.

The Hubs, being installed at key visitor sites around Charnwood Forest, feature key information about the Geopark, what makes the region so special, and some suggestions of sites to visit. Some Hubs also feature maps to guide visitors across the Geopark and around the nearby footpaths to local points of interest.

Many Information Hubs have been built around the Geopark’s gabion display tower. This has been designed by Geopark staff and manufactured within Charnwood Forest by a steel fabricator. These Hubs have been installed at Groby Pool, Hill Hole, and Outwoods. Additional Hubs have been installed using existing infrastructure at All Saints’ Church, Thurcaston, and Broom Leys School. Further Information Hubs are planned across the Geopark for installation in 2025.
