We are pleased to announce two exciting opportunities to join the team at Charnwood Forest Geopark. Charnwood Forest, within the National Forest, is an Aspiring UNESCO Global Geopark. With the financial support of the National Lottery Heritage Fund, we are working towards a bold new vision for the area where the unique and internationally significant heritage and landscape of Charnwood Forest is celebrated and protected for future generations.

We are looking for a Public Engagement Co-ordinator to join our Charnwood Forest Geopark Team on a part-time basis, working 22.5 hours (3 days) per week for a fixed term from 12th May 2025 to 31st December 2026. The successful applicant will be appointed within the salary of £35,995 – £39,824 per annum FTE (£21,889 – £24,217 per annum for 22.5 hours). As a Public Engagement Co-ordinator, you will lead meaningful and inclusive programmes that help people connect with the rich landscape and heritage of Charnwood Forest. You’ll oversee the development and delivery of inspiring public engagement initiatives, including our cultural heritage research programme, outdoor learning resources, and the Community Heritage Grant Scheme, which supports grassroots projects celebrating local identity.
We are also looking for a Heritage Education Officer to join us on a part-time basis, working 18.5 hours (two and a half days) per week, for a fixed term contract from 26th May 2025 to 31st December 2026. The successful candidate will be appointed in the salary of £33,265 – £35,993 per annum FTE (£16,632 – £17,997 per annum for 18.5 hours). As Heritage Education Officer, you will lead the Charnwood Forest Geopark education programme, helping children and young people across the region explore and connect with its rich geological, natural and cultural heritage.
