We’re taking finance into the forest! Join us in an unusual setting as we explore the role of treasurer, understand how financial management can work in your organisation and learn how to protect yourself and your organisation’s money. You’ll be amongst nature and have space to reflect as we discuss good practice.
The workshop will be led by the team from Charnwood Forest Geopark in the beautiful setting of Shuttlewood Clarke’s grounds. We’ll be spending the day in a yurt near the Activity Centre, with hot drinks and biscuits provided, and finishing the day off by learning how to whittle a small mushroom from locally-grown hazel.
This workshop is aimed at treasurers, people in organisations looking to recruit or retain a treasurer, anyone interested in becoming a treasurer, or anyone curious about the treasurer role. The only thing we ask is that you are based in or near to Charnwood Forest Geopark.
Visit our Ticketsource site to book your free place. We ask for a maximum of two people per organisation.
Please come dressed warmly, with waterproofs and comfortable as the toilet is a short walk away through the woodlands. Bring your own lunch and something to take notes on, but please be aware there’s no WiFi. All tools, equipment, safety briefing and materials will be provided for the whittling session and no previous experience is required.
Please get in touch with abrand-barker@nationalforest.org if you have any questions.
