Leicestershire’s food landscape is diverse, complex, and vibrant with a wide variety of community projects and partners – yet in common with the UK food system, some in our communities struggle to access a healthy diet, and parts of the food system are not supporting health and sustainability goals. Leicestershire County Council is working towards achieving the Gold Sustainable Food Places Award, and needs local voices to help shape a fairer, healthier, more sustainable food future.
The Geopark is supporting this initiative and will be hosting Food Conversations – guided group discussions where people hear insights, explore issues, and identify community priorities for change. To do this we’re looking for volunteers who would like to train to run Food Conversations in communities, workplaces, and groups across the Charnwood Forest.
When is the training session?
Thursday 30th April at a venue close to Loughborough. The session is a full-day, in-person and all resources and materials will be provided. To book follow the Eventbrite link.
Who can get involved?
Anyone! You don’t need specialist knowledge of the local food system — just enthusiasm and a desire to create positive change.
