Charnwood Forest is home to some of the oldest animal fossils on the planet. But this alone isn’t enough to secure UNESCO Global Geopark status. In this free, online, and easy to understand talk, Dr Jack Matthews will explain what a Geopark is, using examples from the Global Geopark Network. Jack will reveal the process Charnwood Forest is currently going through for its application, and the benefits securing the status could bring for the region and local communities.
