Join the Geopark for an easy to understand introduction to the amazing geology of Charnwood Forest. Dr Jack Matthews will guide you through nearly 600 million years of earth history, highlighting incredible stories including the evolution of the world’s oldest known animals, the time when our region sat at the heart of a giant desert, and the marvelous minerals found in this part of Leicestershire. No specialist knowledge is required to attend, just an interest in natural history and an appetite to explore our planet’s past!
