Celebrating Our Region
Charnwood Forest Geopark Festival
Over the past 6 years, the Charnwood Forest Landscape Partnership Scheme has brought people, ideas, organisations and investment together to make a real difference in Charnwood Forest. From grants and geoconservation, to community engagement and education, so many people have played a part in making the project what it is today. As this funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund comes to an end, we want to take the opportunity to celebrate what has been achieved, recognise everyone that has contributed and look ahead to what comes next.

Organise an Event
We’d love for you to host an event, activity, talk, workshop, walk or experience that celebrates your involvement in Charnwood Forest Geopark, and gives others a chance to discover what you’ve achieved.
Perhaps you’re a wildlife organisation that could lead a wildlife ID walk. Maybe your community group could run a taster session, you could open your doors for a tour, or you could share what you’ve learnt through a talk, demonstration or hands-on activity. There are no wrong ideas! Events could be big or small, indoors or outdoors, practical or creative. You could share a skill, showcase your work, invite people behind the scenes, or introduce them to something new. The important thing is that your event helps us celebrate the people, ideas and achievements that have made a difference through the Landscape Partnership Scheme.
So, what would you love to share? Complete the short form and tell us about your idea, when you could run your event and what support you might need. We can’t wait to see what you come up with – and to celebrate everything we’ve achieved together!
Support For Your Festival Events
We have a small amount of funding available to help make events happen. This could contribute towards things like venue or room hire, refreshments, equipment, materials or other practical needs.
If you have any questions about hosting an event as part of the Geopark Festival, please contact Hayley Rock.
