Get involved! Charnwood Forest Geopark and Outwoods Edge Primary School are working together to improve the outdoor learning spaces at the school, and we need your help!
Although the school has some amazing outdoor spaces, they’re currently not in a condition where the children and staff can use them to their full potential. A brilliant pond area that could be used for pond dipping and studying habitats is currently unusable and the school allotment has unfortunately become an overgrown field. Over the course of the day, with the help of the local community and volunteers, we hope to make the outdoor learning space a brilliant place to explore learning outside the classroom. This will include:
- Removing rotten decking from the pond area and replacing with slabs.
- Assembling and filling new raised beds in the allotment.
- Installing guttering on the shed.
- Assembling new wooden composters.
- Making bird and bug boxes and more family friendly activities.
Date: Thursday 6th August, 10am-4pm
