Friends of Grace Dieu Priory Weekend of Archaeology

Come along for a weekend of archaeology and heritage, run by The Friends of Grace Dieu Priory, at the historic Grace Dieu Priory ruins in Charnwood Forest. You’ll be able to take a guided tour, have a go at excavating in a trench, browse an exhibition of finds from Grace Dieu and wider area, and bask in the summer sun with a cool refreshment as you take it all in! Guidebooks and other publications will also be available to purchase. This event is completely FREE (although donations are always welcome) and open to all ages.

N.B. – any child under the age of 18 must be supervised by an adult at all times, particularly if taking part in the excavation. For more information, see the CBA Festival of Archaeology Safeguarding policy.

The event is open Saturday 19th July and Sunday 20th July, 12 noon – 5pm.

Guided tours will be provided each day at 2pm.
